How Park & Ride works at Heathrow

You drive to the car park yourself, park in a marked bay and keep your own keys. Staff meet you, help with the luggage, confirm your return details and photograph the car's condition with you. A shuttle then takes you to the terminal, typically in around ten minutes.

Your car stays exactly where you left it, in a CCTV-monitored compound, for the whole trip. Nobody else drives it. For a lot of travellers that alone is the reason to choose Park & Ride over Meet & Greet.

Getting to your terminal from the car park

Heathrow's free internal transport does most of the work. From our Park & Ride drop-off the route is:

  • Terminal 4 - free shuttle bus straight there.
  • Terminal 2 - free shuttle bus to T4, then the free train to Terminal 2.
  • Terminal 3 - free shuttle bus to T4, then the free train to Terminal 3.
  • Terminal 5 - free shuttle bus to T4, then the free train to Terminal 5.

Build that into your timings, especially for Terminals 2, 3 and 5 where there is a change involved.

How much time to allow

Call the car park about 30 minutes before you arrive so a member of staff is ready for you. Then allow around ten minutes for the shuttle, plus the train leg if your terminal needs one, on top of your normal check-in time.

If you are running late or early, call - it is far better than turning up unannounced.

Coming home

Call once you have collected your baggage and are ready to leave the terminal. Board the return shuttle from the terminal stop, show your ticket at the barrier, and collect your car.

What to have ready

Your booking reference, your keys, and any unusual starting instructions. Take valuables with you. Do not leave the car unattended before staff have met you.

Park & Ride or Meet & Greet?

Park & Ride is normally the cheaper option at Heathrow and it keeps your keys in your pocket. Meet & Greet costs more and removes the shuttle from both ends. If you are not in a hurry and would rather nobody else drove your car, Park & Ride is the one.
