Which Nepal trek package should I book?
Pick Everest Base Camp if you want the bucket-list summit view and have 15 days; pick Annapurna Base Camp if you want a high-mountain trek in 10 days; pick a foothills or Poon Hill trip if this is your first trek.
Everest Base Camp Trek (15 days)
The route goes via Namche Bazaar and Tengboche Monastery to Everest Base Camp at 5,364 m and the Kala Patthar viewpoint at 5,545 m, with two acclimatisation days built in. The Kathmandu–Lukla return flights, Sagarmatha National Park fees and TIMS card are included.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek (10 days)
Two nights in Kathmandu and two in Pokhara sit either side of five nights in mountain lodges, ending at a base camp ringed by Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre. ACAP permits and an English-speaking trek guide are included.
Gentler first treks
The Annapurna Foothills trip (Ghandruk, Jhinu Danda, Landruk, Dhampus) stays lower than the base camp treks. The Wellness Tour adds a four-night trek to the Poon Hill sunrise over Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, with guide and porters. If you want the Everest view without the walk, the helicopter tour flies from Kathmandu into the Khumbu and back the same morning, weather permitting.
When is the best time to go to Nepal from the UK?
For trekking, autumn (October–November) and spring (March–May) are the main seasons, with the clearest mountain views. The June–September monsoon brings rain and cloud to the hills, and winter (December–February) is cold at altitude but works well for lower Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan tours.
For UK travellers, an October half-term or Easter holiday lines up with these seasons, so book early if you need school-holiday dates. urbook's Nepal packages are listed for travel until December 2027.
Do I need a visa for Nepal with a British passport?
Yes. British passport holders can get a tourist visa on arrival (you can fill in the online form up to 15 days before you land) or apply in advance through the Nepal Embassy. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after your date of entry, according to GOV.UK travel advice. Visas come in 15, 30 and 90-day lengths; check the current fee on Nepal's Department of Immigration website before you go.
How urbook checks its holiday partners
urbook checks every holiday partner's licence and that it is eligible to operate, and has a signed memorandum with each partner. That matters when you are booking a big trip with a newer brand: the operator running your trek or tour on the ground has been checked before its packages go on urbook.
Every Nepal package also lists what is included, such as guides, permits, meals and entrance fees, so you can see the full picture before you pay. Airport transfers in Nepal are included in every Nepal package except the Yoga and Meditation Retreat.
How do I add Heathrow or Luton parking to a Nepal holiday?
Add parking or a transfer when you book the holiday and it sits on the same booking reference. As of 7 October 2026, urbook shows Heathrow parking from £63.60 for 7 days and Luton parking from £71.11 for 7 days; longer trips are priced for your actual dates.
- Heathrow airport parking – compare Meet & Greet, Park & Ride and long stay for a two-week trek.
- Luton airport parking – Meet & Greet and Park & Ride.
- Heathrow airport transfers – a driver collects you from home, with vehicles for 2–8 passengers.
48 hours before you go, your holiday details and any parking or transfer appear together in your urbook booking. Arrive three hours before a long-haul flight; our guide on how early to arrive at Heathrow has the timings. That is urbook – your booking, sorted: holiday, parking and transfer in one place.
